Brazilian Sweet Potato Feijoada

Feijoada is a classic Brazilian meat stew, which we've tweaked to make an utterly delicious meat-free dinner. With chunks of our beautiful STRONG ROOTS Garlic Roasted Sweet Potatoes, black beans, sweet peppers and coriander to freshen it all up, this is a cracker of a dish!


  • 1 Bag of Garlic Roasted Sweet Potatoes
  • 280g of uncooked rice
  • 100ml of orange juice
  • 1 tin of tomatoes
  • 1 tin of black beans
  • 1 large red bell pepper
  • sliced 2 red onions
  • sliced 1 red chili
  • diced 1 lime
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tbsp of smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil
  • method (tick as you go)


    Preheat the oven to 200°C.


    Place STRONG ROOTS Garlic Roasted Sweet Potatoes on a baking tray and cook as per instructions on the bag.


    In a large pan heat the olive oil over a medium heat. Add the onions, garlic, chili, bell peppers and smoked paprika. When softened add the tinned tomatoes, black beans and orange juice, reduce until it has thickened .


    In a pot of boiling seasoned water cook the rice.


    Remove the Garlic Roasted Sweet Potatoes from the oven and combine with the Feijoada mix.


    Serve over rice with lime wedges.
